Rueger's, our restaurant and bar, pays homage to the original eatery that opened on this site in 1846. Just as was done back then, the majority of our ingredients are sourced locally to give you the freshest, most nutrient-rich dishes possible. Specializing in Southern comfort food with a healthy and modern twist, everyone will find something on our menu that hits the spot. In our quest to give our guests a unique, local experience, we brew coffee roasted at Richmond's own Carytown Coffee, serve some of RVA's best local craft beers, and feature specialty cocktails crafted with Belle Isle Moonshine.

Moonshine
Our “Rueger's Old-Fashioned Moonshine” cocktail hearkens back to a drink at the original Rueger's. Advertised in the March 13, 1868 edition of the Richmond Daily Dispatch, what was then named the “Mountain Dew Cocktail” was “sold by the drink, bottle, gallon or barrel.” Our version features Belle Isle Black Label Moonshine, infused with the zest of orange, lemon, lime and vanilla extract, then topped with Mello Yello.
